The Challenge
A longtime pond owner who had built an elaborate outdoor model train garden wanted a waterfall that functioned as the scenic mountain centerpiece, in scale with the trains, with the track running through it.
The Build
Ray had maintained his own pond for over 30 years before coming to us. He had built an elaborate outdoor model train garden and wanted a waterfall that looked like a mountain, in scale with the trains, with the track able to pass through it from one side to the other.
The space was tight and almost all work was done completely by hand to avoid disturbing the train set and everything he had built. We designed the waterfall around the mountain concept, incorporated small aquatic plants and landscape lighting, and built a feature that fits seamlessly into the world he'd created. A miniature mill pond with a model mill house adds a second vignette alongside it. There is nothing else like it.
