How can you find a great company to build a home waterfall in Nassau County? Keep reading the Scott Anderson Design guide below to learn more.

What They Can Build

First, you want to determine what the company can build. After all, you don’t want to go through all the steps before realizing that the company you want to go with can’t do more than put a garden hose in a hole in the ground.

Not every company specializes in water features and can’t create a waterfall design in your Mineola, NY backyard. Before you start considering any other tips in this guide, ensure the business can create what you want.

Check Their Reviews

Next, you should check the reviews. You’ve probably heard that you should take reviews with a grain of salt, and that’s still true. Some people may leave bad reviews out of bitterness, letting their emotions cloud their judgment. Also, some people may leave glowing reviews for mediocre work because they liked one aspect of the company.

When looking at reviews for a Nassau County company, consider both positive and negative reviews. Look for similarities between reviews.

Did multiple people compliment the company’s customer service? Did many say the work wasn’t worth the cost? These may be good indicators of how your experience will go.

Ask for Referrals

Do you know anyone who had a garden designed by a landscaping company in Mineola, NY? If so, ask who they went with and if they would recommend them.

You can trust the friends and family in your life, so they’ll give you the best referrals. Did they love the waterfall design the company made?

Did they dislike the customer service? Are they happy with the results? Listen to them talk about their experience and take their referral into consideration.

How many experiences Do They Have?

You also want to look into the company and see how much experience they have. While experience doesn’t always mean they’ll do a good job, it’s an important factor to consider.

Is the company brand-new? If so, the company may not have the right equipment needed to do the job. For example, they may not have the best flexible liners for your pond.

If the company doesn’t have a lot of reviews, you may find that they don’t have a lot of experience either. Before choosing a company with little experience, consider if you’re willing to take the risk. You may not know what to expect if they don’t have a lot of examples of their work to show off.

Are They Certified?

You also want to know if the Mineola, NY company is certified. The last thing you want is someone illegally working on your backyard waterfalls. Before hiring them, make sure they have all the proper certifications.

Look at Their Portfolio

Finally, you should look at the Nassau County company’s portfolio. Do they have many examples of a home waterfall they’ve done? How do the pictures look? Do they show broken pond liners or cracks at the sides of the pond?

Or does the shallow water look beautiful in the small pond? You can see the water moving even though a still photo, and you can imagine the sound of the waterfall running. If that’s what the photos look like in the company’s portfolio, call them immediately.

It takes a lot of work to build a pond or backyard waterfalls, and you can’t just choose anybody. Call Scott Anderson Design at 516-729-5668 today. Whether you want us to create a pond or water feature, we guarantee that you’ll love the result. Then, all you have to do is fill the pond, sit back, and relax.

Some information about Mineola, NY

Mineola is a village in and the county seat of Nassau County, Long Island, New York, United States. The population was 18,799 at the 2010 census. The name is derived from an Algonquin Chief, Miniolagamika, which means ‘pleasant village’.

The central, flat, grassy part of Long Island was originally named ‘Hempstead Plains’. In the 19th century, various communities were started. One of them was called ‘Hempstead Branch’, and finally, ‘Mineola’.

Long Island was part of Henry Hudson’s original claim in the name of the Dutch East India Company dating as far back as 1609. In the 18th century, the Dutch and English settlers worked to clear farmland to start their life on the Hempstead Plains. It was in 1858 when this land was named after an Algonquin Indian Chief, Miniolagamika meaning, ‘Pleasant Village’. The name was later shortened and altered to ‘Mineola’.

From about 1787 until the 1870s, the area was the county seat for Queens County, in a section then known as Clowesville, just outside the present village boundaries. The western portion of Queens became a borough of New York City in 1898, and in 1899 Nassau County was formed from the part of Queens that did not so consolidate. Voters selected Mineola (in the Town of North Hempstead) to be the county seat for the new county of Nassau in November 1898(before Mineola incorporated as a village in 1906 and set its boundaries), winning out over Hicksville and Hempstead. The Garden City Company (founded in 1893 by the heirs of Alexander Turney Stewart)donated four acres of land for the county buildings just south of the Mineola train station and the present day Village of Mineola, in the Town of Hempstead.
